INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police said on Tuesday they arrested a woman in a hit-and-run crash that killed an Indianapolis teenager at the end of June.

Hit-and-Run detectives arrested 26-year-old Sarah A. Williams of Indianapolis for the crash that killed 15-year-old Jack Bussa on June 29.

Police say the striking vehicle was located and the owner of the car — Williams — was interviewed by detectives. According to officials, Williams denied driving her vehicle when the crash happened and indicated the car was stolen.

After investigating, detectives determined Williams was driving the car when Bussa was hit and killed.

The Marion County Prosecutors Office filed charges and a warrant was issued. Police say Williams turned herself into the Arrestee Processing Center Monday night.

Williams is charged with failure to stop at an accident scene causing death, a Class C felony. Officials note Williams was charged under the old IC codes because the crash happened before the July 1 mandate.
