FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Allen County Police have arrested a man who is accused of gaining entry into an ambulance that was on the Parkview Regional Medical Center, off of Dupont Road.

Investigators said that around noon on Tuesday, Guy Thurman, 61, of Bellevue, Michigan, was seen roaming around on the hospital grounds acting suspicious. Parkview security was notified about Thurman, approached him and asked him to leave. Police said he left but then came back to the hospital minutes later.

When he came back, police said Thurman got into an ambulance on the passenger side. Police don’t believe he was trying to steal it or drive away in it. Parkview security tried to get Thurman to get out of the ambulance and when they called police, Thurman got out of the ambulance and took off.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department arrived and caught Thurman minutes later. He was arrested and is being charged with unauthorized entry into a vehicle.

Police said Thurman was not a patient at Parkview Hospital.
