Bicyclist killed by hit and run driver

CICERO, Ind. (WISH) – Hamilton County Police are looking for a hit and run driver that killed a 20-year-old man riding his bike.

The accident happened on Main Street in Cicero just after 9:30 p.m. Monday.

An initial investigation showed 20-year-old Nicholas Camp of Cicero was riding his bicycling southbound on Main Street when the left handlebar of his bicycle was struck by a passing motorist.

The impact reportedly caused Camp to lose control of the bike and crash.

Police say Camp was found with his bicycle on top of him by a passerby. Camp was not wearing a helmet and sustained severe head injuries.

He was taken to Riverview Hospital and then transferred to IU Health Methodist Hospital where later died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Camp left the scene. Investigators say the vehicle may have damage on the passenger side, specifically the mirror.
