SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WANE) A flight from Indiana to New York City is becoming a little easier. Tickets are now on sale for nonstop flights from South Bend International Airport (SBN) to Newark Liberty International Airport(EWR).
SBN announced the daily United flight between the two airports on Monday.
From the Newark airport, there are several public transportation options from to New York City, which is about 30 to 40 minutes away.
“New York City is the number one demanded unserved market for the Michiana community until today,” SBN Executive Director Mike Daigle said. “This announcement has been 2 years in the making and I’m thrilled to expand our domestic air service and increase access to and from SBN to benefit the citizens of our community.”
Starting October 27, there will be a flight from South Bend to Newark in the morning, and then in the evening the flight will return from Newark to South Bend. Each flight will take a little more than two hours.
