Man pinned inside truck after crashing into tree

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne police are investigating a crash in the 1400 block of Kensington Boulevard.

Emergency personnel were called around 10:30 p.m Sunday after a man crashed his pickup truck into a tree.

Firefighters needed to remove the man from the truck after he was pinned inside.

The man sideswiped one tree near Lake Avenue and then crashed head-on into a second tree in the center median. Items from the back of the pickup truck was scattered along the road and in the median.

The driver was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but was later upgraded to serious condition by hospital staff.

The man’s name has not been released.

Police said alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
