Siebelaner Hits The Ice At Columbus Rookie Camp

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Former Carroll hockey standout Blake Siebenaler made history by becoming the first Fort Wayne native selected in the NHL draft in two decades. This week – the next step began.

Siebenaler – who was selected 77th overall by Columbus – attended Blue Jackets rookie camp in Ohio. The 18-year-old says he will continue to play juniors and develop with his current team in Niagara, but that the mini-camp was a good opportunity to get used to the increased speed of the game and learn from older, more experienced players. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
