Smallest Winner Season 7 sets weight loss record

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Season 7 of Fort Wayne’s Smallest Winner ended Saturday with the final results finale.

The 23 contestants gathered at the Arts United Center in downtown Fort Wayne for the celebration. Organizers said it was a record-breaking year for the program. All together, the contestants lost 1,200 pounds. That’s an average of 53 pounds per contestant.

The winner, Jim Berry, lost 77 pounds, which was 33 percent of his weight.

“Life was kind of tumbling out of control and I had just gained so much weight and I thought I have got to do something. And I just thought, you know what, I’m going to take a chance,” Berry said.
