FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man is in critical condition after being shot outside a home on Lillie Street early Thursday morning.
Around 2:30 a.m., Fort Wayne police were called to 4006 Lillie Street after someone called 911 to report a shooting.
Investigators said the man appeared to have been outside when gunfire erupted from the street. City police spokesperson Officer Chris Felton said the man was shot near the street.
Police said after the man was shot he made made it back inside a house.
Medics took the man to the hospital in serious condition. Felton said the man was later downgraded at the hospital to critical condition. Information on how many times the man was shot or how many shots were fired was unclear Thursday morning.
Felton said investigators believe a light-colored SUV might have been involved, but additional information on the vehicle was not available.
Police have no suspects and no arrests have been made.
Detectives were interviewing potential witnesses and gathering evidence at the scene. Investigators were also hoping to speak with the victim at the hospital.
The man’s name has not been released.
