Report: Parker Could Begin Throwing Program Soon

OAKLAND, Calif. (WANE) – Norwell high school graduate Jarrod Parker could be taking a big step in recovering from Tommy John surgery in the near future.
According to a report by Rotoworld, Parker could begin a throwing program in the next 2-3 weeks.
The 25-year old had reconstructive elbow surgery on his pitching elbow back in March. It is the second Tommy John surgery for Parker, who had the procedure as a minor leaguer in October of 2009, causing him to miss the entire 2010 season.
In two full seasons with the Athletics Parker is 25-16 with a 3.73 ERA. He was scheduled to pitch on opening day for Oakland this season before injuring his elbow in spring training.
