DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Two people had minor injuries after a crash on I-69 around mile marker 326 just before 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police said Rena French, 75, of Fort Wayne was driving a Chevrolet Impala southbound just south of the 326 exit. As she tried to make an illegal U-turn into the northbound traffic, she came to a complete stop in the left lane of the southbound side while she waited for traffic to clear in the northbound lanes.

Bradley Fouch, 23, of Dewitt, Michigan, didn’t see that French had stopped until it was too late to avoid the crash. His Saturn rear-ended the Chevrolet.

French had minor chest pain and Fouch had minor cuts to his elbow and abrasions on his forehead. They were both cleared by medics at the scene.

The interstate was shut down for about 30 minutes while the vehicles were towed away. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
