Chef shows how to make the perfect pesto

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The owner and chef at La Dolce Vita, Laura Wilson. showed NewsChannel 15’s Gina Glaros and Rob Lydick how to cook pesto on First News Sunday.

Pesto is an Italian sauce that contains the following ingredients:

  • Toasted pine nuts
  • Basil
  • Garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper

To get the best results, mix in a food processor or blender.

The pesto can be put in the freezer. It can also be put into the refrigerator, but should be brought back to room temperature before eating.
