Police confronted by machete-wielding suspect in drug raid

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Three men are in jail after police said they were dealing a synthetic drug or lookalike and various other charges. Police said one of the three came at them with a machete and pocket knife.

According to the police report, when police arrived at the 2700 block of West Washington to serve a search warrant, Jason L Bloomfield, 29, confronted officers with a machete and pocket knife.

Police then hit Jason with a foam bullet and he was taken into custody and charged with four counts of dealing a synthetic drug or lookalike, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Police believe Jason Lee Bloomfield, along with Christopher Lewis Bloomfield, 27, and Zachary Scott Bloomfield, 19, were making and selling drugs at 2737 West Washington Center Road and 1502 Third Street.

When police searched the second location, they arrested the other two men. Christopher L. and Zachary S. Bloomfield were both arrested for dealing a synthetic drug or lookalike, possession of paraphernalia, and maintaining a common nuisance.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said the investigation is ongoing.
