PERU, Ind. (AP) — Indiana State Police say a narcotics sweep along U.S. 31 in northern Indiana has resulted in 67 arrests including 21 on felony charges.

Sgt. Tony Slocum says the sweep over five days last week captured LSD, heroin, marijuana, ecstasy and unknown substances that haven’t been identified. All of the drugs were found during traffic stops made by state troopers and officers from five local law enforcement agencies in Cass, Fulton, Miami and Wabash counties.

Slocum says U.S. 31 was chosen because of the large volume of motorists who use the highway to travel through northern Indiana.

The sweep also netted five impaired drivers and 62 traffic citations.
