Red Cross begins holiday blood drive

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)- The American Red Cross is asking people in northeast Indiana to help save a life this holiday week.

Blood supplies typically drop to very low levels during the summer, according to the organization.

The All American Blood Drive runs through Thursday and then again on Saturday. Specific times and locations are as follows:

Fort Wayne Donor Center, 1212 East California Road, Fort Wayne
9 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, July 2 and 3
8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 5

Lutheran Hospital Donor Center, 7900 West Jefferson Blvd. (South Lobby), Fort Wayne
6 a.m.-Noon, Thursday and Saturday, July 3 and 5

Both donation centers will be closed on Friday, July 4

Donors will get a free T-shirt and there will also be hot dogs and ice cream available as refreshments.
