FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Prairie Farms donated 500 gallons of milk to the Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana, Inc. in Fort Wayne on Monday morning.

It was part of The Great American Milk Drive, a campaign in which the dairy company donated over 10,000 gallons of milk to food banks across the Midwest.

Along with celebrating June Dairy Month, it was also a part of an effort to help with the shortage of milk that many food banks are seeing this summer. Even with the donation, the food bank is still in need of more milk, and is asking local residents to help with the situation.
