Carroll’s Tranquill Suffers Torn ACL

JUSTIN TRANQUILL

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Carroll’s bid for a third straight sectional championship just got a little bit harder. NewsChannel 15 has learned that Chargers senior Justin Tranquill – one of the top returning players in Northeast Indiana – suffered a torn ACL while competing at the 7-on-7 football national tournament in Florida last week. A team official confirmed that Tranquill will undergo surgery later this week. There is currently no timetable for his return.

Tranquill lined up at running back, receiver and defensive back for Carroll last season, leading the team in rushing yards and receptions. The 5-foot-11 senior also tallied 20 total touchdowns.

Tranquill currently holds scholarship offers from a dozen schools including Indiana and Purdue.
