Former Charger Siebenaler Drafted By Columbus Blue Jackets

PHILADELPHIA, PA. (WANE) – Former Carroll High School hockey standout Blake Siebenaler was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the NHL Draft on Saturday morning. The 18-year-old defenseman was drafted in the 3rd round, 77th overall.

At 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, Siebenaler has the size and skating ability that NHL teams covet. He was considered a top 75 prospect by multiple outlets including the NHL’s Central Scouting Service and the Red Line Report.

Siebenaler  played his freshman season at Carroll high school, leading the Chargers in scoring en route to a 4A state championship. He spent the last season playing for the Niagara Ice Dogs of the OHL where he tallied 30 points in 68 games.
