Woman caught boarding plane with fake ID

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) –  A woman in Fort Wayne faces an identity deception charge after Homeland Security agents said she tried to get on an airplane at Fort Wayne International with a fake Mexican ID.

The Allen County prosecutor charged Yoandra De La Torre Thursday. Investigators said she tried boarding the plane last Friday with an ID bearing name Valentina Villanueva on it.

De La Torre said she used that ID because she’s facing charges in Arizona and didn’t want to use her real name. Investigators said those charges are for trying to bring 125 pounds of pot into the U.S. from Mexico.

De La Torre also told agents she had $3,000 in her luggage, but it wasn’t from selling drugs.
