3 safely escape Hoagland Ave. house fire

Fort Wayne firefighters battled a house fire on Hoagland Avenue late Sunday night.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fire damaged a home on Hoagland Avenue late Sunday night.

Firefighters were called to 4421 Hoagland Avenue around 11:30 p.m.

The first arriving crews discovered smoke coming from the home. Once inside, crews found a fire around the electrical panel in the basement, according to a fire department report.

It took crews approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control.

Fire officials said three people safely escaped the home.

No injuries were reported.

The home sustained moderate fire and water damage and minor smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
