Summer solstice honors Alzheimer’s

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Kingston Residence Assisted Living celebrated The Longest Day in Fort Wayne with knitting and other hand crafts, tabletop games (cards, tile games and board games such as euchre, Mahjong, and Scrabble).

The Alzheimer’s Association sponsored the day of fun to honor and remember the strength and endurance demonstrated by those with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones everyday of their illness.

The assisted living residence on 7515 Winchester Rd had activities that including a yoga stretch and knitting instruction Saturday morning.

All day long Kingston provides information on services of the Alzheimer’s Association, clinical trial enrollment, advocacy and brain health assessment and examples of brain exercises.

Over 2500 people are participating in The Longest Day event across the nation. From dancing to keep memories alive, to hiking the Appalachian Trail people celebrating The Longest Day in different ways.
