Woman faces multiple drug dealing charges

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)  The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kaila T Griffith, 41, after issuing two separate warrants for her arrest Thursday.

Police started the investigation June 1. The release from police states the Union City Michigan resident was believed to be dealing in controlled substances. Griffith had two warrants out for her arrest.

According to the release, one warrant was for a schedule II substance. A schedule II substance has “a high potential for abuse which may lead to severe psychological or physical dependence,’ according to the DEA. Oxycotin, Percocet, Adderall and Ritilen are all examples of schedule II substances.

is a drug or other substance that has a high potential for abuse or a prescribed drug or substance that has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States or a currently accepted medical use with severe restrictions.

The other warrant was for a schedule IV substance which is a drug or other substance that has lower potential for abuse relative to other drugs or substances. Cough medications such as Robitussin AC are considered schedule IV.

Police said Griffith is being held on a $50,000 cash bond for the dealing in a schedule II controlled substance, and $25,000 cash bond for dealing in a schedule IV controlled substance.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing. According to the press release, more criminal charges are expected to be filed with the Steuben County Prosecutor’s Office.
