COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WANE) – Parkview Oaks and Parkview Pointe have been sold in Columbia City.

Miller’s Merry Manor is acquiring both properties from Parkview Whitley Hospital.

Parkview Oaks operates as a skilled nursing facility and Parkview Pointe operates as an assisted living center.

With new owners, Parkview Whitley Hospital notified 52 workers about pending job losses, according to a notice filed with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

A WARN notice was issued to the affected employees, but Parkview said it expects Miller’s Merry Manor to employ some of the workers. It’s unclear how many Parkview employees Miller’s Merry Manor might keep.

Parkview said employees were first told the properties were put up for sale in March 2013.

Workers will have their employment terminated between Sept. 1 and Sept. 14, according to the notice. The 52 workers represent 26 percent of the workforce at Parkview Whitley Hospital – but all staff members work at either Parkview Oaks or Parkview Pointe.

Parkview Whitley Hospital is offering severance benefits and transition programs to affected employees.

Miller’s Merry Manor already operates a facility in Columbia City in addition to several other properties in Northeast Indiana and across the state.

Parkview Oaks is located at 411 North Wolf Road and Parkview Pointe is located at 413 North Wolf Road.
