Delta to add a flight out of Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Starting in September, Delta Airlines will offer an additional flight to Atlanta out of Fort Wayne International Airport.  Also, one of Delta’s current flights to Atlanta will be upgraded from a 50 passenger jet to a 76 passenger regional jet that will also offer first class service.

The Fort Wayne – Allen County Airport Authority released the flight information Tuesday morning.

The new flight to Atlanta begins service on September 2. Flight 5353, will depart Fort Wayne International daily at 8 a.m. with arrival in Atlanta at 9:49 a.m. This new service puts Fort Wayne’s total flights to Atlanta at four per day.

Starting July 1, Flight 4952 will offer 12 first class seats and 64 economy seats, departing Atlanta at 10:25 a.m. and arriving in Fort Wayne at 12:05 p.m. Return service departs Fort Wayne at 12:40 p.m. and arrives in Atlanta ATL at 2:28 p.m.

“FWA’s flights to Atlanta have operated at or near capacity for some time now and we’re confident this route can support additional seats,” said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports for the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority. “We hope travelers will enjoy the added flexibility Delta has given us in Fort Wayne, specifically those loyal fliers who will likely take advantage of first class service.”
