Report: New Haven’s Gooden To Take Lawrence Central Job

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – According to a report from the News-Sentinel, longtime New Haven boy’s basketball coach Al Gooden has accepted an offer to be the new head coach at Lawrence Central in Indianapolis.

Gooden has coached for 27 years, most of which were spent at Harding High School where he lead the program to 10 sectional championships and eight regional titles. In three seasons with New Haven, Gooden lead the Bulldogs to a 54-14 record and a sectional championship in 2013.

In all, Gooden has amassed a 392-228 record in his career.

Lawrence Central is coming off an 11-7 mark last season.
