FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The doors of the Golden Corral at 10510 Maysville Road were closed on Wednesday. The sign posted on the restaurant’s door indicated it had been closed by the Indiana Department of Revenue, a state agency.

The business appears to have violated the Indiana Tax Code. A sign on the restaurant’s door states that the business is in violation of Indiana Code 6-2.5-9 and faces a class A misdemeanor.

A representative with the Department of Revenue would not provide any specifics, but did direct NewsChannel 15 to this site:http://in.gov/dor/3959.htm. The site outlines the process for paying unpaid taxes after an account has fallen into the collections process.

A Warrant for Collection of Tax issued on June 1, 2014 and filed with the county clerk states that the business owes more than $42,000 in taxes. After interest and collection fees, the total the business owes the state comes to $51,211.83.

There is no word on if or when Golden Corral will re-open. The Lima Road location is still open for business.
