Fort Wayne, IN — The Komets announced Friday the completion of trades made for future considerations during the 2013-14 season.
The Komets have acquired the ECHL rights to defenseman Drew Daniels from Utah, completing the trade for futures for goaltender Cody Reichard made on Jan. 2. Daniels, 25 (6-2, 192 lbs.), began the 2013-14 season skating 44 games with Cincinnati before finishing the year appearing in 13 regular season games and two playoff games with Utah. Daniels made his pro debut in 2012-13 helping the Allen Americans capture the CHL Presidents’ Cup. The Suffern, New York native was selected by San Jose in round seven of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The Komets also announced that the ECHL rights to forward Jason Dale have been dealt to Stockton to complete the trade for forward Mitch Bruijsten made on March 13 for future considerations. Dale appeared in seven regular season games scoring two goals and three points.
Game change— The Komets also announced one game change to the 2014-15 schedule released last week. The game originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14 at Cincinnati has been moved to Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7:35pm due to building availability.
Komets open 2014-15 with home-and-home series against the new Indianapolis Fuel— The Komets will open their 63rd season on the road against the new intrastate rival Indianapolis Fuel Friday, Oct. 17. The two teams then travel back to Fort Wayne for the Komets’ home opener Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7:30pm.
