Apartment condemned following drug bust

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Police arrested a man and woman just before 9 a.m. Friday after they found marijuana, pills and drug paraphernalia in their West Central neighborhood apartment.

The Fort Wayne Police Department Emergency Services Team and members of the Vice & Narcotics Division served a warrant at 1138 Wilt Street, Apt. 1, after getting tips that meth was being manufactured inside the residence.

When officers went inside, they found Matthew Yeakle, 29, and Lisa Yeakle, 32, along with marijuana, drug paraphernalia and various pills.

Lisa Yeakle was taken to a hospital to be checked out after she was seen swallowing an unknown substance as the Emergency Services Team was entering the apartment.

Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code was called in as part of the investigation and it was determined the apartment should be condemned.

Two dogs who were in the apartment were taken to Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control.

Matthew Yeakle is facing multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.

Lisa Yeakle is also facing similar charges.
