Saints Surge To Semi-State Saturday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Until this past Saturday, no current Bishop Dwenger player had ever witness the Saints winning a regional championship.
The last – and only – time Dwenger brought home a regional title was 1991. That was until Dwenger beat Norwell 11-9 on Saturday in the regional semifinals then topped Yorktown 11-7 later that night for the semistate title at Bellmont high school.
The Saints will look to earn the program’s first semi-state title as the Dwenger (19-11) battles 3A no. 1 Andrean (29-4) Saturday at Plymouth high school. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
