FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Police are investigating a triple shooting involving three teens near the 800 block of Colerick Street near Weisser Park.
According to an officer on the scene, the shootings took place just before 12:30 p.m.
One of the teens was found in a house, the other two were found near the Weisser Park Community Center.
All three were shot in the lower extremities and are listed in fair and stable condition.
Police are still investigating but said it looks like the three teens had been shooting at each other, even though no guns were recovered at the scene. Police then expanded their search to any items that could be tied to the incident which ultimately led to them serving a search warrant around 5 p.m. at a house in the 800 block of Drexel Avenue. Around the time, there were two women, a baby, and about five men inside the house.
“Right now it’s just a matter of collecting anything associated with this particular shooting to help tie individuals specifically to their role,” Officer Michael Joyner with the Fort Wayne Police Department said.
Police haven’t released a possible motive. However, people in the area said the teens are students at South Side High School.
Monday was the first day of summer activities at Weisser Park Community Center, so kids and staff were put on lockdown for a brief period along with teachers who were working at Weisser Park Elementary School.
