SOFT: Leo Advances To 3A State Championship

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Leo’s dream season will continue for one more week. The Lions are heading to the 3A state championship after defeating Yorktown 6-0 Saturday night in semi-state. Earlier in the day Leo defeated Hanover Central 3-0, capping a fantastic defensive day for the Lions. Leo (26-6) will face Gibson Southern (29-3) next Saturday at Ben Davis High School. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.

Huntington North’s day started with the thrill of handing state number one Crown Point it’s first loss of the season in the semi-finals, before coming up short in a 5-2 loss to Hamilton Southeastern in the championship game. The Vikings run ends with a 24-6 record.

Eastside also came up one game shy of reaching the state finals. The Blazers were shutout in the 2A final 1-0 by Southmont.
