FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Foundation Fighting Blindness is bringing people together to support therapy programs and research to help those with eye diseases.
Its goal is the raise more than $50,000 during the annual Fort Wayne VisionWalk.
Fort Wayne resident and co-chair of the walk, Brenda Niccum, sat down with NewsChannel 15’s Gina Glaros during First News Sunday.
Niccum is affected by Retinitis Pigmentosa,a disease that affects the cells in the eye’s retina. She is now an advocate for people with eye diseases and research programs funded by the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
The Fort Wayne VisionWalk 2014 is at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14 at Headwaters Park. Registration is at 8:30 a.m.
