Library concert series back for 8th year

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Rock the Plaza is back at the downtown Fort Wayne library. The outdoor concerts will be every Saturday night through the end of August.

The family-friendly shows go from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Saturday night.

“It provides opportunities for people to come back downtown. It doesn’t cost anything. We encourage people to come down here with their lawn chairs. Usually, they want to check out a band. But we say come early, check out the band before and hang out. Lots of times, it’s incorporated with something else that’s going on downtown, Norm Compton, the concert organizer, said.

Around 1,000 people come out for each show, he added. More than forty bands are booked for concerts throughout the summer.
