Grand opening held for McMillen Park Community Center

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne residents, business leaders and city officials met Saturday morning for a dedication ceremony for the new McMillen Park Community Center.

Saturday’s event showcased phase one of the renovation. The $2 million project focused on new basketball courts, volleyball courts, four multi-purpose rooms, a security system and a computer lab.

Mayor Tom Henry, City Councilman Glynn Hines and Parks and Recreation Director Al Moll dedicated the center.

A ribbon cutting ceremony kicked off the celebration, followed by carnival games, basketball, volleyball, pickle ball and health booths.

Summer hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
