Bruins Gearing Up To Defend State Title

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Northrop girls track program heads to Bloomington tomorrow with a bullseye on its back, as the Bruins look to defend their state championship at Indiana University’s Haugh Track and Field Complex.
Last year’s state title was the 10th in Northrop’s history and the second championship in three seasons. Head coach Harmony Ake’s team finished with 60 points followed by runner-up Lawrence Central with 51 and Bellmont with 41.
This season Terry Milton is Northrop’s head coach, and the Bruins will be relying heavily on their relay teams. The Bruins are seeded third in the 4×100, fourth in the 4×400, and seventh in the 4×800.
