Fort Wayne, Ind. (WANE) – A man is in critical condition after being shot in the parking lot of a Fort Wayne bar early Monday morning.
Fort Wayne police were called to Foster’s Sports Pub on South Clinton Street around 1:30 a.m.
Officers found a man who had been shot in the parking lot to the south of the establishment. Paramedics took the man to the hospital in serious condition, but his condition was downgraded to critical by hospital staff a short time later.
Sources close to the investigation told NewsChannel 15 the man appeared to have been shot multiple times, including once to the abdomen area.
Some sort of disturbance occurred prior to the shooting, but the details about what happened are unclear at this point in the investigation, according to city police spokesperson Officer Chris Felton.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Officers discovered several shell casings in the parking lot and those items were collected and processed for evidence.
Felton said there were no suspects and no arrests have been made. Witnesses were interviewed and officers canvassed nearby neighborhoods looking for potential suspects.
Officers cleared out several dozen patrons from the bar following the shooting.
