FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Police at the scene of a crash at Goshen Road and Butler Road told NewsChannel 15 that three people were taken to a hospital Saturday night. The crash happened around 10 p.m. and involved three vehicles.
Jeremy Ray Traxel and Damien Perkins were both in a Plymouth Grand Voyager minivan going south on Goshen Avenue. Perkins was in the passenger seat and described what happened.
“A car just literally was in its lane and then just shot straight over and came straight at us. As my friend swerved to get out of the way, it clipped the side of us and we came to a dead stop. It hit us hard enough that the car locked up and we came to a dead stop and skidded about ten feet,” Perkins said. “The next thing I know I’m pushing the air bag down and looking around going, ‘What the hell just happened.’ It was terrifying. It was one of those moments when you look around and thank God you’re alive.”

Both Traxel and Perkins said they had some minor pain from their seat belts, but that they were not hurt.
Police haven’t released official details of what happened or caused the crash, but Perkins said medics told him the person driving the car had a seizure. Police dispatchers said one person was taken to a hospital in serious condition and two others were transported in fair condition. Which vehicles those victims were in isn’t clear yet.
