Clothing company helping Chicago girl with disability

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A company that designs creative and artistic clothing is raising funds for a girl and her family.

Matilda Jane Clothing, founded in 2005 by Denise DeMarchis of Fort Wayne, makes clothes for children and women. The company also focuses on giving back to the community.

The employees of Matilda Jane Clothing are gathering up their items to hold a garage sale to raise money for a Chicago girl who needs a handicap accessible van.

Through the Mighty Acorn Foundation, the clothing design company has helped build an orphanage in Kenya as well as build a homes with Habitat for Humanity in the Fort Wayne area.

The garage sale is from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on June 7 at 5650 Old Mill Road. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
