Semi fire disrupts traffic on I-69

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Emergency crews have now opened lanes northbound of I-69 in DeKalb County between the 334 and 337 mile markers near US 6.

The semi caught fire just after 7 a.m., according to DeKalb County dispatchers. The truck driver pulled over because she was having mechanical problems. When she got out of the truck she noticed the smoke and flames.

No injuries were reported. However, the truck was destroyed and the trailer had some fire damage.  The truck was hauling a soy bean bi-product.

Emergency crews estimate that the road should be opened back up around 9:30 am.
