Ball State Coaches Caravan Visits Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – The 2014 Ball State Coaches Caravan made its stop in Fort Wayne on Thursday afternoon. Head football coach Pete Lembo, men’s basketball coach James Whitford and women’s basketball coach Brady Sallee were all in attendance meeting and greeting fans in downtown Fort Wayne.

Lembo just signed a contract extension with the Cardinals after leading BSU to a second straight bowl appearance. Ball State has won 19 games over the last two seasons.

Whitford is coming off his first season as head coach of the men’s basketball program. He called the Cardinals 5-25 season a challenging learning experience, but is optimistic moving forward with a young influx of players.

For Sallee and the Cards its same song, different verse. Ball State reached the Women’s NIT for the second straight season after reeling off seven straight wins to reach the MAC Tournament Championship game back in March.
