INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — State police say Delaware County in eastern Indiana leads the state so far this year in number of methamphetamine labs found.
The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Unit reports it had dismantled 42 labs in Delaware County through the end of April. That was twice as many as Allen County, which was second on the list with 21. Statewide, 527 labs had been dismantled in Indiana through the first four months of the year.
Federal statistics show Indiana led the United States in meth lab seized last year with about 1,800, followed by Tennessee with about 1,500 and Missouri with about 1,400.
