FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Two confinement officers were hurt when police say an inmate attacked them.

According to Court documents, Taraerica Knight, 31, was in the Allen County Jail on May 19 when she committed battery against two officers as one of them tried to serve her dinner.

The probable cause affidavit states that it happened when Officer Ashley Horstman was delivering food to Knight, who was lying under a bunk in her jail cell. Knight reportedly came running out at Horstman and yelled, “You killed Michael Knight!”

Knight started clawing at Horstman, scratching and causing injuries to her lip, chin, left cheek, neck, and left forearm. Officer Kristen Cochran radioed for help and then helped get Knight handcuffed. Cochran also sustained scratches to her left forearm.

Knight wasn’t hurt. She faces two felony counts of battery.
