For the first time in program history, a pair of players on the IPFW baseball team in Carter DeBoe and Steve Lowden have been named to the Summit League All-League First Team.
The duo is also the first Mastodon players since former IPFW pitcher Brandon Knowling in 2008 to be named First Team All-League.
Lowden, a Second Team selection a year ago, was selected as a utility player after making 26 starts at catcher and 13 at first base. In the regular season, Lowden ranked fifth in in the Summit League in batting average at .336 and ninth in doubles with 10. He also threw out 18 runners trying to steal, second most in the league.
DeBoe earned All-League honors as a designated hitter, making 46 of his 49 starts there for the Mastodons. DeBoe ranked in the top-10 in the Summit League in 10 different offensive categories including: batting average, runs, hits, doubles, triples, home runs, total bases, RBI, slugging percentage and stolen bases.
