FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  A program intended to honor residents and City employees is now visible to anyone traveling along West Jefferson Boulevard near Swinney Park.  The first of what will be many Blue Star banners was installed Wednesday morning.  The first banner honors Command Sergeant Major Brian Kiess, a member of the Army Reserve who also works in the Division of Public Works.

Family and friends of deployed military personnel can complete an application at www.cityoffortwayne.org/bluestarbanner. Once the applications are reviewed, banners will be made and displayed on light poles along West Jefferson Boulevard from the Time Corners area to Swinney Park. Banners will be displayed through November and then removed during the winter months. Banners will be displayed each April-November.
