Dwenger Clinches SAC, Homestead Earns Share Of NHC

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Bishop Dwenger clinched the SAC baseball title on Tuesday for the first time since 2007 while Homestead earned at least a share of the NHC title with a commanding win.
Dwenger lost to Snider 6-5 at Hawley Field, but with Wayne’s 5-4 loss to Concordia the Saints earned the SAC championship. It is the fifth SAC title in program history.
Homestead, meanwhile, rapped out 17 hits in a 15-0 win at Bischoff Field at New Haven. The Spartans are now 6-0 in the NHC with just one conference game remaining. Adam Newport went 3-for-3 with six RBI to pace the Spartans.
