Northrop Girls Track Blazes Way To Sectional Title

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Northrop took home another girls track sectional title after a dominating performance on Tuesday night at Spuller Stadium, as the Bruins outscored second place Concordia 141.833 to 96.
The Bruins were led by their relay teams. Amber McGee, Breanna Phillips, Latrice Bolton, and Victoria McCuiston won the 4×400. Phillips, McCuiston, Bolton, and Patricia Bolton also won the 4×800.

McGee also won the 200 meters, McCuiston won the 800 meters, and Latrice Bolton won the 400 meters.

Concordia was paced by Symone Black, who won both the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles. Her time of 42.24 seconds in the 300 meter hurdles broke the sectional record – set last season by Black at 43.08.
Reigning state champion Sara McKeeman won the pole vault for Carroll to help the Chargers finish in third place as a team with 90.833 points. Carroll’s Madison Frusch won the 3200 meters as well.

Snider came in fourth as a team with 67 points behind a first place finish by Karrina Smith in the long jump (18 feet, 10 inches).

North Side finished fifth with 61.5 points with Dyamond Morris win the 100 meters.

The girls regional meet is set for next Tuesday also at Spuller Stadium.
