Indiana State Fair announces Free Stage concerts

INDIANAPOLIS (AP/WISH) — The Indiana State Fair says its Free Stage during this summer’s fair will include performances by rising country performer Dustin Lynch and Grammy-nominated Canadian rockers Barenaked Ladies.

The fair announced Thursday that other performers will include Charles Esten and Clare Bowen of the ABC television series “Nashville,” the Beatles tribute band BritBeat, the Hispanic/Latino Music Festival featuring Stacy Sandoval, America and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and the Happy Together Tour with The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, and Gary Lewis & The Playboys.

All of the shows are free with paid admission to the Aug. 1-17 fair.

The fair earlier announced shows in the refurbished Coliseum will include Robin Thicke, Pitbull, Hunter Hayes and comic Jim Gaffigan, who grew up in northwestern Indiana.

Below is a full list of concerts at the Free Stage during the Indiana State Fair, which are free to attend with paid admission to the fair.

  • Aug. 8:  Maggie Rose (6 p.m.); Brothers Osborne (7:30 p.m.); and Chase Rice (9 p.m.) presented by WFMS
  • Aug. 9:  Dylan Scott presented by WFMS (5 p.m.); Dakota Bradley presented by WFMS (6 p.m.)
  • Aug. 10:  Contemporary Christian Music Fest featuring Rend Collective Experiment (2 to 9 p.m.)
  • Aug. 11:  Barenaked Ladies (7:30 p.m.)
  • Aug. 12:  “Happy Together Tour” with The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie;  Chuck Negron formerly of Three Dog Night; Mark Farner formerly of Grand Funk Railroad; Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels; and Gary Lewis & The Playboys (7 p.m.)
