“Heroin Unit” makes first arrest

MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department in Ohio has recently assigned extra patrols to combat in increase in heroin usage. The department’s “Heroin Unit” as it’s called made it’s first arrest on Tuesday according the Sheriff Jeff Grey.

At about 6:10 pm, officers pulled over Derek C. Sutter, 22, of Celina after he ignored a stop and was witnessed driving left of center. Sutter tested positive for opiates and was arrested for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence.

The Sheriff’s Department has asked residents to call or email with drug complaints. They can call the tip line at 567.8890.8477 or email a message on the department’s web site.
