FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Postponing the SAC championships by a day due to rain seemed to have little impact on the Bishop Dwenger boys and Northrop girls – each of whom captured team championships on Saturday afternoon.
The Saints – lead by win in the long jump and pole vault from Jarod Schipper – totaled 156 points. That final was well in front of second place Northrop (112.5) and third place North Side (76.5). South Side’s Shaton Harris was the individual star of the day, winning boy the 100 and 200 meter titles.
The Northrop girls showed their dominance once again, finishing a full 52 points ahead of second place Concordia. In all, the Bruins won four individual titles on their way to the team championship.
