Allen County Officials honor Mad Ants

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Allen County Board of Commissioners proclaimed Friday, May 9 “Fort Wayne Mad Ants Championship Day” to honor their league win.

The Mad Ants defeated Santa Cruz on April 26 at the Memorial Coliseum, earning the team’s first NBA D-League title.

In the commissioners’ proclamations, they praised the players for being great role models on and off the court and the coaching staff for their leadership.

Team president, Jeff Potter, and D-League Most Valuable Player and Finals MVP, Ron Howard, were there to represent the team.

The proclamation was made during the board’s regular legislative session. The Mad Ants finished the season with 34 wins and 16 losses.
