FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  The man and woman found dead Thursday morning both died of gunshot wounds, according to the Allen County Coroner’s report.

39-year-old David T. Wehrle’s death has been ruled a homicide. His death is the fifth homicide in Allen County in 2014. The coroner did not list a manner of death for 49-year-old Linette A. Pass, stating it was listed as pending further investigation.

Police were called to the home at the 12000-block of Wandering Way just before 9 a.m. on Thursday by a coworker and family member who went to check on a man after he didn’t show up to work for a couple of days.

When the coworker and family member went into the home in the Lakes of Carroll Creek addition, they found Pass and Wehrle dead in a bedroom.

Pass and Wehrle are both listed as the owners of the home on Wandering Way.

The deaths of Pass and Wehrle remain under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Allen County Coroner’s Office and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
